Alan L. Sorkin, Ph.D.

Alan L. Sorkin, Ph.D, is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Economics at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He is also adjunct Professor of International Health at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University in 1966.

Dr. Sorkin has written or edited 18 books dealing with a variety of topics in applied economics including Health Economics, American Indian Economics Development, and Business Cycles. He has also written a number of articles focusing on the economics of human resources.
