Mehmet Kocakulah, Ph.D.
Mehmet C. Kocakulah, Ph.D.
is a professor of accounting at the University of Southern Indiana.
He earned his BS degree at Ege University in Turkey, his MBA at
the University of Louisville, and Ph.D. at Istanbul University.
His teaching interests are in Cost and Management Accounting. His research
interests are in healthcare costs and new trends in cost and management
accounting, such as activity-based management, cost of quality and Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
He is a former Chair of the Department of Accounting and
Business Law at the University of Southern Indiana. His research
has been published in academic and practitioner journals and international
and national refereed conference proceedings, including the Journal
of Cost Management, Research in Healthcare Financial Management, The Journal
of Bank Cost and Management Accounting, Health Progress, Hospital Topics,
Journal of Health Care Finance, The Journal of Accounting Education, Journal
of System Management and the Review of Business Information Systems.
He also is actively involved in many professional organizations such as
the American Accounting Association and the Institute of Management
Accountants. He serves on editorial boards for the Journal of International
Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, and Research in Healthcare Financial
Management, and as a member of the board directors for several professional
organizations.
He has presented seminars and done consulting work for
a number of international and small business organizations on financial
and cost accounting, and accounting information systems.
