George Y. Andrea, CPCU

is a Professor of Finance at the Merrick School of Business, University of Baltimore, and a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter. He is co-owner of Symet Insurance and Finance Technology Consulting Corp., and previously served as Chief Financial officer for a technology consulting firm. He also served as a Senior Market Conduct Examiner for the State of Maryland Insurance Administration, and as an insurance regulatory compliance consultant. He has extensive experience auditing insurance companies, and has research interests in Insurance Securitization and Risk Management, and in exploring capital market solutions to finance catastrophic insurance losses.
